Some people dream of going to the sea-carved cliffs of Spain or the romantic cityscape of Paris, but not me. For my vacation, I'm headed to Pittsburg, New Hampshire, home of 'Moose Alley.' This 30 mile stretch of two-lane highway straddling the US/Canada border boasts one, singular attraction - moose. Loads of them, roaming at dusk and dawn, just waiting to be photographed by my little camera. I've never seen a moose in real life, but as a dedicated 'Northern Exposure' fan, I'm obsessed with the notion of them. These regal, yet bizarre and grotesquely intriguing, long-legged, knock-kneed giants strike me as some sort of Darwinian hiccup, some strange glitch in the natural progression of animal evolution. Our products are created from 100% reclaimed or discarded materials. Rather than these materials ending up at the local dump, we attempt to repurpose them into something beautiful. This piece was fabricated from a partial sheet of leftover bamboo ply from a much larger furniture project. Bamboo is the choice for environmentally friendly production due to its ease of sustainability and minimal impact on the environment. Oh, and it is also beautiful.

Our Reproduction Antique Riddling Rack is made by hand, following the exact look of original riddling racks from the early 1800's, used in the process of making champagne. Our racks measure 21 inches wide by 42 inches tall and are 3 inches deep. The rack holds a total of 36 bottles and looks very impressive when holding bottles of wine on the wall! Each rack is unique - they are distressed by hand to make it appear well aged and used over time. Each rack is then treated with a three step process to give it variation of color that has depth and character. No two racks turn out exactly alike, so the rack you purchase will be uniquely yours. Our riddling racks can be used not only for wine bottles, but in other creative ways. We currently use our own riddling rack as a candle holder and it looks beautiful in the evening glowing with candle light. This beauty would look great on any wall in the house. Each barrel has only one stave with the hole for the winemaker to fill and empty the wine, making these extra special. Perfect for coats in a front entry, great for towels in the bath, or anywhere you want a conversation piece. The hooks were handmade by a local blacksmith, Stephen Erickson, who worked off of a drawing I did for him. Four hooks per rack. This large stoneware spoonrest is in the shape of a plump bird, and is glazed in a glossy, mottled rust brown and gold. Details are textured right into the clay. This will hold the largest of cooking spoons and keep your counters stain-free. Put it in the dishwasher for quick cleaning. 7" by 5" by almost 1" deep.

Nobody else makes an item quite like my stoneware fish pitcher. Although I make them in a variety of shapes, colors and sizes with each one being unique, this one is a big catch. It's 12 1/2" tall and has the capacity to be a great water, iced tea or juice pitcher, holding about a half gallon. Glazed with a speckled golden pumpkin and a glossy sage green both inside and out, the outside of the stoneware pitcher features the deeply textured scales and fins of the fish. All of the texture of the fish brings out the many glaze tones. The glaze is totally food-safe, and the pitcher can be put in the dishwasher.
